Minden Public Schools, Minden, NE 2016-Present 

I serve as the East Elementary School librarian.  My professional role includes, but is not limited to, managing the collection, guiding students in their book choices, reading books aloud, conducting activites relevant to book selections, teaching library skills and reading instruction.

Jensen Memorial Library, Minden, NE 2014-2016 

While working at the library, I performed duties such as circulating books for patrons, as well as organizing, covering, and shelving books and various media items.  I aided children and adults in finding genres, subjects, authors, and titles that interest them.  In addition to these basic tasks, my primary role in the library was to organize and implement events for children in preschool, elementary, and middle school age groups.  I also played a significant role in the summer reading programs, guiding kids as they worked toward their reading goals, as well as teach classes to a variety of ages.  My primary objective was to stimulate the minds of each child, while instilling within them a love of books and reading.   

 

Minden Public Schools Substitute Teacher, Minden, NE, 1993-2014 

During my time as a substitute teacher, I was frequently hired on a long-term basis (six weeks or more) in the areas of English, elementary education and middle school education.  I frequently substituted for the Media Specialists in all three Minden schools. I created and implemented lesson plans in a variety of classroom settings, in addition to engaging in active instruction and classroom management.

Judge and Reader for Quiz Bowl Competitions, Minden, Holdrege and Franklin, NE, 1994-2015 

This involves reading and analyzing questions and answers provided for and by students at both the elementary level and middle school level. 

 

Invention Convention Judge, 2000-2014 

This involves observing a presentation in regards to projects that students create and then visiting with them before making an educated analysis of their invention.
